We need your help in meeting a $10,000 challenge!
In years past, our efforts in cleaning up illegal dumpsites in Allegheny County were mostly funded by a number of foundations that shared our desire to make the county a more attractive and healthier place in which to live, work and raise our families. More recently, these foundations’ board members, hard pressed to fund the many needs of our region’s non-profits, have indicated that organizations such as Allegheny CleanWays need to diversify their sources of funding. To that end, we are currently asking a number of local businesses and professionals to become a “sponsor” of our efforts.
We are also asking you, our most ardent friends and supporters, for your financial help at this time. What’s really exciting is that we have an anonymous donor who has offered to match dollar-for-dollar all gifts up to a total of $10,000. That means that your donation has the potential to be doubled!
Did you know that since our beginnings, 11,114 people have helped in removing 3.7 million pounds of debris, including 25,393 tires and 191,320 pounds of metal and other recyclables. We have accomplished great things, but still have a great more to do. This is where you can pitch in and help!
Your gift is as an investment in your community. With your help, we can continue in our fight to clean up illegal dumpsites, conduct cleanup coordinator workshops and work on preventing illegal dumping.
