Welcome New Tireless Partners!

We would like to welcome and thank our new Tireless Project partners Pennsylvania Resources Council, Boat Pittsburgh, Sup3rivers, and Allegheny County Conservation District for joining us in the battle against watershed pollution! We are very excited to be able to expand our reach with these new partnerships by increasing clean up frequency, amount of volunteers reached, improving our educational outreach to students in the area, and more! Stay tuned to witness the positive work our teamwork will accomplish.

Board Member Spotlight: Kathryn Gorman!

Why are you on the board for ACW?

I am on the board because keeping the environment clean has always been very important to me.  I appreciate the efforts of the organization to help clean up Pittsburgh, and to enlist residents throughout the city in helping to keep their neighborhoods clean.

What is your future dream for Allegheny Cleanways?

I dream that there are fewer and fewer cleanups that are required!

Where did you attend college?

I went to Penn State for my undergrad degree, and to CMU for an MBA.

What do you do for work?

I am the Chief Operating Officer for the United Methodist Foundation of Western PA.

What is your favorite book?

#GivingTuesday

Please consider making a year-end gift to Allegheny CleanWays part of your holiday shopping. Today is Giving Tuesday – a day set aside to celebrate generosity and giving.  “We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.”

Simply follow this link to our donations page. Choose one of the donation amounts, or personalize your donation amount here. Fill in your email address, name and address and click “confirm contribution.” Your g will ensure that we continue cleaning and beautifying the wooded hillsides, empty lots, streams and riverbanks of Allegheny County. Thank you!

Save the Date!

Our volunteer recognition event has changed venues and seasons!

For the past several years, we’ve honored our volunteers at a gathering in October at the home of one of our board members. While it’s a truly lovely spot, trying to pull off the event during one of our busiest times of the year is very challenging. So….we’re moving it to one of our slower months - February! We hope it will be something you can look toward to help fight off the winter doldrums.

More information will be coming soon, but in the meantime register here and mark your calendars for noon on February 21, 2015 at the Pittsburgh Public Market.  Hope to see you all there!
